The next challenge was dealing with variations in data structure as every network operator recorded data in a slightly different way and format. When Ordnance Survey was asked to help build a prototype of the National Energy System Map, along with partners 1Spatial, the first consideration was how do we produce a national digital map that is secure, allowing access to valuable data in a way that doesn’t compromise security and commercial sensitivities.
